| Leaking urine all over... In the last few days I have noticed that sometimes Marcino has some difficulty in getting the ''flow'' going when he pees. I was at the Vet on Tuesday night with him for a routine check up and he peed in her office (he is fully house broken)... she said not to worry, that it is just the excitment and that it is common for young males. When I told her about the difficulty urinating... she told me that it is extremely rare that males get UTI's and not to worry.. he's fine. That night when we got home he puddled in 4 different places in the condo, and when I was bringing downstairs to finish up he peed all over the hallway. For the last couple of days he has been dripping urine all over when he walks/runs in the appartment. They are just little drops, but there are a lot of them Any ideas of what could be going on? Apparently he is fine. Is this normal for young males (8 months old). |

| No this is not normal. Take a urine sample into the vets ( first a.m. urine sample is best). It could be a UTI or it could be crystals in his urine. Either way he will have to be on antibiotics or need a change in diet, etc. Is he neutered? He is young to have prostate problems...but it could also be an infection of the prostate. Gina

| Re: Leaking urine all over... A while ago my spayed 5 year old girl started wetting her bed during the night. I took a urine sample to the VET, which tested fine. No infections, diabetes etc..... So, they put her on hormone replacement tablets. This did not work, she still had 'accidents'. I took her back after 3 weeks and they did a sonar of her bladder and took an urine sample. Turned out that it was an infection. After being on antibiotics, she's had no 'accident' for about a month now. So, my advise would be to take your furkid to the VET so that they can take the urine sample. They will be able to get a more accurate 'reading'. Less change of it getting contaminated... |

| Re: Leaking urine all over... congrats on the snip date, do not worry, he will grow to what he is supposed to, and you love him just the same. So did you find out what happened with the urine test???? When do you want to make another play date...

| Re: Leaking urine all over... Everything came out normal... and it seems to have stopped. The vet told me to put Ketchup in his food (the high vinegar content would most likely kill a minor infection if one was present). It seems to have worked. We are headed to DDO Saturday... How does 2pm sound? Cheers - V |
