My boy has been diagnosed

The doc finally found my boy's mystery illness. It's a cancer that cats get sometimes and dogs almost never. It's called Lymphangiosarcoma. He tested negative for lymphoma b/c it's a cancer of the lymphatic vessel itself. The vessel carries the lymph and white blood cells through the lymphatic system.
Don't know how long we have yet. The doc has a consult with the oncologist today b/c he's had no dealings with this cancer.

I am sorry you are faced with this. Just find out the facts before you make yourself sick with worry. I can't say I am familiar with that type of cancer,but I did loose my Nico to a different type 2 years ago. How old is your dog? Did they tell you what the prognosis was in relation to cats? You will find alot of support here, jus keep us posted. I'll be sending prayers.

D-Day is almost 10 yrs. old and has never had a sick day in his life. He's blown out both his knees of course but never sick. Even now his only sympton is lymphoedema (his leg is swollen from his hock to his foot).
I googled it and so far it seems not to respond to chemo or radiation. I don't know how it progresses or how aggressive it is. I'll know more this afternoon.
