Grade I Elbow vs. Mild Deviation to the Hip

I would like to get an opinion on a Grade I Elbow versus a Mild Deviation to the Hip. These are both Dysplasia, however I’m seeing more and more Breeders putting less emphasis on the Elbow, is one not just as bad as the other?

Grade one what? It makes a HUGE difference. Grade 1 DJD, OCD, FCP, UAP ???

Grade 1 DJD is very minor and can occur through normal wear and tear in an active, athletic dog (or human runner) ANY grade of UPA, OCD or FCP is serious and dogs with those diagnosis should never be bred

Dogs with passing hips fall into Excellent good or fair and all those are breedable, anything less is not. Hips either have good structure and pass or don't. The OFA for reasons only they know, lumped several different issues together and call them all ED

However, if a young dog that has never had a career shows Grade 1 DJD - I'd have to wonder what it would turn into with some work.

My apologies, I should have been more specific, Degenerative Joint Disease. But I'm not sure that I agree that it's minor. I'm seeing dogs at Stud with Grade I DJD who according to what's posted on the OFA site seem to be throwing bad Elbows and yet breeders are still going back to them and some with Bitches with Elbows that haven't passed. And as far as OFA goes, if there is any issue with the hips and if it's only one hip, you don't receive a rating at all, but with the Elbows it is broken down per Elbow. Shoudn't the Hips be seperated as well, i.e. if one passes give the rating on that one at least.
