| i live in a small town very populated with dogs. my nieghbers have 3 dogs that they do not take care of and always come to my house when i feed roxy. these dogs are coverd in mange. i have called animal control but got no results. as much as i try those dogs come into my yard and sometimes in contact with roxy. i have heard mange will stay in the grass and can not be killed. i have noticed alot of bald spots in her hine legs, and under her legs she has some scabbing. i think it is the first signs of mange what methods are out there. (natural, or chemical) |

| 1. Call Animal Control DAILY until you get results...and do not take NO for an answer - these dogs are NOT safe to have in your yard, nor are they healthy...keep Roxy in the house, away from these dogs until they are removed. If you have to, and if you can, buy cheap leashes and leash the dogs and take them back to the neighbors and politely let them know that they have been in your yard bothering your dog and ask that they please keep them contained - maybe point out to them that the dogs appear to be ill... 2. Get Roxy to the vet for diagnosis and treatment - we can't diagnose her over the internet, and she may not have mange - if you treat for something she doesn't have - she could get really sick. |

| I agree with RottMomCt. Also, if the 3 dogs have a medical condition that appears to be going untreated, call the SPCA. They will at least investigate, and cause your animal control person to pay closer attention. Keep us posted on how your Roxy makes out at the vet. |

| Did everything turn out ok with your dog and the 3 other dogs? Before we got Victoria, she was living in a house (the owners didn't live there, but they came by for 3 minutes once a day to everyother day to feed and water them, the owners did nothing about their feces) with 2 adult huskies and 3 cats and then, 3 days before they were rescued, one adult dog had 6 puppies. Anyway, to make a long story short, I had to call every day for 3 months. Finally, i think it was sophies-mom that told me to go the press. Well, I called the newspaper and a couple of days after the article aired, the dogs where removed. Doing that motivated a lot of people to call in and complain a great deal about why only one person cared enough about these dogs to do anything. In the end, it worked. Let us know what happened!

| If there is a feed & seed store there where you are get a product called happy jack mange. Get some of That and put it on her, since i own a neapolitan mastiff and they have very loose & wrinkle skin they loose hair especially young dogs an pups but this stuff helps. It stinks so you will need to apply it to her outside and leave her out there for a while because it really stinks and you have to put on gloves to apply it to her but it works it's yellow and kind of thick. Also get some hartz flea powder it also helps with mange and it say's it on the back of it. |

| In the meantime..........., feed Roxy inside so that you are not attracting these dogs. Feeding outside also attracts other critters that you'd probably prefer not to have by your home. Also, build an area that is fenced so that she can be in her own yard without being bothered by other dogs at all.

| Another thing you could try is using Revolution. It protects dogs from fleas, ticks, heartworm, ear mites and mange. It is a little more expensive than something like Advantage but I think it is worth it since you will not need to give them something seperate for heartworm.....and if something like this ever comes up again you could have a little comfort knowing your dog is protected. |

| I have called my county judge and spoke with him personaly and he can not do anything. the town i live in is to small and the closest pound is about 5 miles away in a diffrent town, and they will not come to my town. i am going to take my neighbors dogs to the pound my self once i catch them without my neighbor knowing. but as far as roxy i will try the each method starting with the head and shoulders, with the hartz flea powder. if that does not work i will try the other methods but i will keep everyone posted. thank you for the great tips i am kind of new to the rottie world and love to learn new things all the time. |
