Cruciate Ligament Query

Hi - Can anyone offer me some advice? My 6 year old Rottweiler has just had her second CL surgery last wednesday. I am worried as she had her first operation in January and now her other leg has just been operated on. I am concerned as to whether her other leg can hold the weight now. Is there anyone out there who has experienced this? If so, any help would be gratefully recieved.Thanks..Also, does anyone have any ideas how to occupy a resing dog? She cannot use chew toys at the moment due to a sore mouth so occupying her is really difficult... Thanks

I can't help you with your first question...but I know someone will answer it soon.

As to the games & keeping your gal occupied...check here. http://www.lauriebryce.com/tplo/index.html There is a list of fun games & distractions.

Hope that helps!

TPLO or taditional

Was it a traditional repair ? My male had his 2nd TPLO last month and I can relate to the rehad process for that operation very well.

It's anything other than TPLO.

Hi
My dog has had a suture ligament repair and her first one was a traditional repair.I'm not too sure of the correct veterinary terms i'm afraid.

all will be well

Our dog, Nala, had both acl's repaired via: TPLO. One leg was done, then the other within 6 months. She's fine now! Your dog will be just fine. The boredom will cause some minor depression. We just spent each evening lying by Nala's side and giving her lots of love during the recovery. Good luck!
