white bumps on eyelid

I'm treating my 3 year old rottie for some hotspots on his jaw which are healing nicely. But I also noticed that he has some white bumps that look like styes (sp?) on his eyelid - the eye on the opposite side from the hotspots. The vet didn't know what they were and just said to keep an eye on it. He has since developed a couple more. They don't seem to bother him at all - not itchy or anything. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Any new chemicals around teh house? New fertilizer? But repellants? Anything he could possibly be getting into??

No chemicals inside. I did spray some Round Up and fertilize a flower bed, but that was at least 2 months ago. We do have fireants in our area and I've seen dogs at the pound with fire ant bites, but usually on their bellies and they didn't look like these bumps. If he did sniff around a fireant mound, I would think he'd have far more bites and they wouldn't be confined to his eyelids. No chemicals on the lawn. His diet hasn't changed either.

Agree with you about the fire ants. Probably worth a call to your vet tomorrow a.m. to let him know it's progressed.
