| Bump/Growth On Ear-Inside Flap I took her to the vet last week and he said that he didn't think it was anything to worry about since it didn't hurt her and hadn't grown in size. She has had it for about a month now so I don't think it is a bite. Has anyone seen anything like this before? I would appreciate your thoughts or feedback. Thanks!

| Usually something like that on an ear flap is a hematoma. Something strikes the ear and causes a bit of a leak from one of the capillaries causing a little pool of blood to form. Because there is no flesh to absorb it, it simply forms a lump that as the blood hardens, so does the lump. These are usually soft when they first occur. Other than that? Don't know

| Thanks to both of you for your replies. It doesn't seem to be a hemotoma.. it is harder than a hemotoma and very light in color, usually you can see the darkness of the blood through the skin on a hemotoma. Maybe I should take her back to the vet. If it is a hemotoma does will she need to be put under to remove it?

| Jazz developed a cyst on the inside of his ear leather which looked the way you described. The vet said to leave it alone but to have it checked if it changed. After a long time (several months, maybe a year) it started to grow, then got scabby & sometimes bled a little. At this point the vet decided to remove it. I was afraid it would deform the shape of his ear or leave a scar, but the vet did a very neat job and after a short while, you couldn't even tell where the cyst had been removed.
