| Is there any know link between advantage or heartgard pills and tumors? Hi, This may seem like a strange question, but... One of our dogs died of cancer tumors (don't rembember which kind of tumor) -so I am wondering if there is any known link between advantage fleas control or heartgard pills and cancer? This is a real concern to us, and if you have any information on it Id really apprieciate it. Thanks,

| So far I have no heard of Advantage or Heartgard causing tumours. If I had to place bets on why our dogs are getting sick with cancer at such young ages. I would blame over-vaccinating, products not fit for human consumption being used in commercial dog foods, everyday chemicals people use in their homes (lawn sprays, air fresheners, etc), lack of exercise and just plain poor living. In our home we try to feed the dogs with the most natural, holistic dogfood or raw, we have the dog titered instead of vaccinated every year. Also I only use Atvantage if needed and the Heartgard is only started in June and ends in September here (we often have snow by October ).We do not fertilize our lawn or spray weeds and try to avoid as many chemicals as we can. It's really hard to tell what makes our dogs get cancer. Hopefully one day there will be an answer. Gina
