Bald Patch around Rocky's eye?!?!

Hi every one! this is my 1st post here, n im really happy i found a forum about rotties ^__^
i have searched through this forum and could not find find anything that answeres my question!!!!

i have a 8month old Rottweiler, rocky. recently he's been getting a 'bald patch' around both his eyes! at the dog school they told me if i wash it out with a cloth dipped in salty water it should start going away within a week.

its already been a week, and it seems the same!! i dont know if i should visit the vet as it could be a minor thing..

ive also read somewhere that tea tree oil may help it, but as the eye is a sensitive area i dont want to risk it.

please help me, and especially rocky!!!! (i have included pics of his eye.)
any help would be greatly appreciated!

It is more than likely demodex (mange) and needs medication. The strongest indication of that is its location - around the eye, on the muzzle and his age is quite right for an appearance. Totally treatable.

yep, my minpin got demodex. Go to the vet, they will look under a microscope for confirmation and then perscribe an ointment. It took about 3 months for it to clear up on my dog. No worries, demodex is a mite that is everywhere, younger dogs sometimes have a harder time keeping it at bay and will get the bald spots. It can sometimes flare up if the dogs are under stress. It is not contagious either as most dogs have no trouble keeping it under control.
