| I gave Bruno a bath this morning and did not notice anything unusual. We were just outside playing ball and when he turned I noticed something on his rear end. It appears to be the size of a half dollar, but like a boil. It isn't red it's more of a greyish color. I applied some pressure on it an Bruno sat down- don't know if it hurt or not. It is not coming out of the anus, but on the side of it. I will call the vet tomorrow morning- just wondering if you guys experienced anything like this before?

| As soon as he is done ripping up the rest of my grass and calms down, I will try to apply a warm facecloth to it. I never had this experience before---thought the anal gland thing was more for shepherds and the like. Thanks Anne for the advice!

| Iria has had several anal gland impactions, and some of them ruptured - yuck!!! They are not fun. You can also soak your dog's rear (have them sit) in a warm bath with epsom salts, as well as applying warm compresses to loosen it up, but a vet visit is definitely in order.
