prolotherapy

Saturday night we were at a graduation party. a couple was there who do SAR and I knew they had a golden with hip dysplasia and that they had a vet in Santa Fe do prolotherapy on their dog about a year ago. I asked how their dog was doing. they told me that before the proceedure, she was doing very badly. lots of laying around, lots of pain & she had completely stopped going out with them for training or working. they said about two weeks after the proceedure, she begin to improve and she is pain free now. it is a very interesting concept, and I'm going to take Hilda up to his practice and see what he can do for her.

To save me the google search debbie...short explanation...what is prolotherapy? Tank's doing great right now (knocking wood), but we know eventually the un-repaired hip may give him troubles.
Thanks.

I was curious too. Here's a link to a concise explanation:
