| Eye Problem I have a 6 year old male Rottie "Apache" and he has always had a very small black 'pimple' (for lack of a better description) on the bottom lid of his eye - right on the black lid part. I never thought much about it - it never affected his eye and it never had a discharge. About 10 days ago it got a little bigger and there was mild discharge in the morning of clear maybe a little white mucous. It grew a little, then it would shrink, then big again etc etc. Now this morning it appeared to be red at the top - I presume dried blood. Any ideas of what this could be? He doesn't touch it with his paw and he's not blinking with that eye any more than the other. Would a topical doggie eye wash help? What about the antibiotic eye creme? There are no other dogs in the house. Thanks! PS God Bless all of you who are having much bigger health problems that I. God hears all your prayers. Joan Apache's Mom |

| Re: Eye Problem sounds like maybe a wart or cyst, growth.common on older dogs.sometimes they are benign and post no problems.sometimes they grow some and rub on eye or lid and cause discomfort, tearring,or eye goop.best bet, let the vet see it and decide if irritating eye, and either with a local or if doing a dental or anything soon,it can be removed.they probably will give you some eye drops or lube for the eye if needed. |

| Re: Eye Problem We had a 7-9 yr old female with a lump on her eyelid - sounds like the same place your Apache has it. It got a little bigger and discharged a little but antibiotics took care of that and it went back to its normal size (actually a little smaller). The vet checked it to make sure her eyelashes were not irritating her eye washed it out with some stuff, gave us antibiotics and an eye ointment and it looked 100% better within about 10 days. I would get him to a vet just to be sure it hasn't irritated his eye or somehow gotten infected... |

| Re: Eye Problem My Husky had a growth on her lid, somewhat like you are describing. It turned out to be a cyst and we had it removed. Jaime
