Winnie ~ Spinal stroke

Well, Winnie's problem was a Fibrous Cartilage Embolism, aka 'spinal stroke'. After my vet took xrays and found nothing had changed since her last set of xrays and also saw nothing wrong with her spine, he suggested I get an MRI done. In the meantime, he put her on steroids. I took her up to Redbank New Jersey to the Redbank Emergency Veterinary Hospital where they did the MRI and a thorough physical exam of her. The vet said that with physical therapy and time, she should make a good recovery. I never even heard of a 'spinal stroke'.

Does anyone know of a rehab clinic in the Phila area that I could take her to swim a few times a week?

Well Beth, that's a new one on me too! But I'm glad to hear that recovery is in her future. I'll kick around some of my websites and see if I can find anything that might help you.

Brooke & Ryan are in PA ( not sure where...) but I believe they swim thier boy at a doggie spa/pool. Perhaps PM them??

Sadly, we're about four hours away from the Philadelphia area. Maybe Judy or Jo know of some place in their area since they aren't that far away from Philly. Guys?
