If Duce ever had to take a pill (if it could be spilt we would spilt it) we would wrap it in a small piece of cheese or 1/2 a piece of pepperoni. Wrap it in something yummy/or something he does not get that often as a treat. Duce never chewed - just swallowed. Hope that helps.

I'm glad you took him to the vet and it seems as though things are on the mend!

I mix the pills just as they are in with their meals. Never a problem getting them down - they don't even notice that they're there!

If you are feeding boiled rice & hamburger, its easy to just bury the pills in the food.

When you wrap a pill in something (squeeze cheese works great), always have a second piece of the treat right in front of them to be given the second they have taken the piece with the pill. They will gulp down the pill one in a rush to get the second treat. Otherwise, many dogs will wallow that one with the pill in it until the have spit out the pill. If there is a seond treat waiting they rush swallowing the first one.

This is exactly what I do and it works wonders!!!I just wrap the pill in a dough ball from a slice of bread...then toss him the rest of the slice before he has time to think twice. .......oh yeah....if your dog has no appetite place the pill as far back on the tongue as possible, shut the snout and massage the throat.....it causes them to swallow and the pills go right down!!

This is exactly what I do too, except I use a piece of hotdog or some peanut butter. You can also pulverize the pills and mix them in with his food.

our pill vehicle is cream cheese. all the dogs seem to like it, and it is a bit slippery!

Jordan has a talent of being able to eject a pill out of both a hamburger and bread even with peanut butter i have wrapped a pill in processed cheese slices and rolled that into a ball works every time i'll try the cream cheese the next time he'll like that
