Valley Fever

I have a nine month old Rottie who has had Valley Fever for 6-7 months, he is doing better now with medication. When he was approximately 3 months old he was listless, no appetite and finally got up one morning and could not walk, his front legs just would not support him, he would try to walk and just nosedive. I took him to my local vet who ran tests and x-rays, then sent me to an orthopaedic. The last test run was for Valley Fever which he definitely has. He now has what appears to be a hump in his vertebra, we massage it daily and the vet says he doesn't know if this is from the Valley Fever.
Anyone had a pup with this most dreaded disease??? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. My pup is up to 82 pounds now but has only gained 2 pounds in the past three weeks. Does anyone know if this stunts their growth, my vet can't seem to give me a definitive answer on any of these questions.
HELP!!!!!
