Re: advice needed

I would suggest that the real first step would be to take a stool specimin in to your vets to see if there are any parasites. Round worms, tapes (present where there have been fleas) and hook can be a common reason for loose stools. Then ask your vet about using Frontline for flea prevention. At first glance it might appear expensive, however it is good for 3 months and it works. Consider the product also for your other dogs so that you can decrease the possibility of fleas (and hence tape worms).

Re: advice needed

Thanks guys for your advise. We have a PetSmart and a PetCo coming up here. The Diamond brand dog food is present in our local feed store, This brand was introduced to me by a Co-worker. I just didn't think it was a premium dog food.

Be aware there is a major difference in the Diamond foods. The regular Diamond line isn't considered a premium brand and most of it is just as bad as the grocery store stuff. Full of by-products, corn and other cheap filler ingredients. Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers Soul is made by Diamond, but it is their super premium line. If you are buying Diamond, that is the one you want to get. Here's a link to their website Chicken Soup for the Dog Lovers Soul

I use Purina One with my 8 month old rott and he likes it well and doesn't have any bowel problems. There is a possibility that it is the treats that you are giving him.

I would suggest you start reading in the Nutrition & Grooming forum...Purina One is not considered a good food....anything that is sold at the grocery store or Walmart, is not worth spending your money on. For a few more dollars per bag, your dog could be eating a super premium food and only needing half of the amount of food and very little coming out the other end
