Holistic vet update

I took Sajan to see the holistic vet last week. She spent over an hour going over his entire life's care and examining him. While she was questioning me I began to realize that Sajan's sore was already healing and had been for about a month. I began to realize that it wasn't bleeding anymore, no more blood splattered walls from shaking his head and no more blood on my legs and arms from him rubbing by me.

Anyways, after telling me that Sajan was on a very well balanced diet except he was getting to much vitamin E, she told me to put hydrogen peroxide on his sore once a day and come back in a week. He also had a mild infection in his ear canals which she gave me a natural liquid to balance the ph in his ears, smelled like vinegar.

We went back yesterday and his ear is starting to try to close the hole in his ear, I doubt it will completely but his body is trying.

My overall opinion of a holistic vet. She did a more complete exam each time than my regular vet ever does but then she muzzled him and my vet doesn't. Did she cause Sajan's body to be able to heal his ear.....NO. She did make me feel better about his diet and she made me realize that his body was already healing it after being on his thyroid meds for 2 months. I guess I was getting impatient and also wasn't seeing the whole picture with the move and everything else that was going on.

Will I go again? If I feel her input would be helpful, yes I would.

The bottom line is, Sajan's ear IS healing now

Re: Holistic vet update

At our last club meeting, a woman who practices holistic medicine came in to do a presentation. She also practices on animals. Looked very interesting, something I wouldn't mind looking into myself. Would I use it for my dogs? Yes, I believe I would - couldn't hurt! The mind is a powerful healer.

Re: Holistic vet update

Wonderful Sharon! I'm so glad to hear that you had a positive experience.

We have a woman who is moving to our area in Oct. (not far from you Patty ) who is a holistic vet. She also is a chiropractor & does acupunture on the dogs. I'm thinking about possibly getting a few "adjustments" for Julius if needed during agility since I'm sure he could probably use them.
