| General hearing question - not breed specific This is one of those off the wall questions we here at work were talking about the other day. Do loud noises hurt a dogs ears like they do humans? Thinking things like gunshots and riding in the belly of an airplane (or sitting on the tarmac waiting to be loaded) as examples that severely damage human ears, but we generaly dont think twice about subjecting our dogs to this noise. Since a dogs hearing is more attuned than humans wouldnt this be the cause of more risk of damage? Or does a dog hear in a different range than humans, and as such there is little worry about the volume, intensity, or duration or noise? What is the school of thought? |

| Re: General hearing question - not breed specific I have always believed what is bad for our ears is bad for our animals ears also. I could be wrong, am no expert. I like to listen to loud music though, so we have to suffer Of course I don't put it extremely loud and it is not too often we are in the same room as the stereo when i have it up |
