My heart breaks for you. Just know this though, your boy knows today not tomorrow. Only you know that. Give him every day, one day at a time. He will be happy with every day he has.

Re: Update on very sick - not good

I am sorry to hear such sad news. Chivas is the one on the forum who tries to keep up to date on all of the different treatments. If you pm her, she may be able to help you make some decisions and may know of some options.

mmgy, the other thread said he is only four years old.

Toobad, your baby is beautiful. You can tell he is a happy boy and much loved. Treasure every moment and take joy in the simple things with him.

Re: Update on very sick - not good

Ask the Drs for an honest appraisal of his odds of surviving the chemo given how ill he's been- diar and all.

If his odds are not great then perhaps you'd be better off saying goodbye before the chemo makes him very ill. If his odds are great then go ahead and spoil him rotten while waiting for the chemicals to do their job on that nasty cancer

My very best to you, having lost 7 dogs in 2 years, I'm well aware of your emotional pain

Re: Update on very sick - not good

I'm so sorry the news wasn't better. Tiny is a beautiful dog, and way too young to suffer such a fate. My heart goes out to you.

Tiny's illness affects not only him, but you and your family. In making decisions on treatment, you need to consider not only Tiny, but how that treatment will impact you, too, not only emotionally but financially. I agree with Diane, you need to ask the vet to be brutally honest with you about Tiny's prognosis. Only then can you make a decision that takes all things into consideration. I'm so, so sorry.

Here are a couple lymphoma links I found that may be helpful to you. Learn as much as you can...it will help you make the best choices you can:

Give that beautiful boy a scritch behind the ears for me.

Re: Update on very sick - not good

Thank you everyone . The doctor I spoke with seems to think he would have a very good chance of responding to the chemo. He is a very big very strong dog ( well he was ) and very strong headed. The doctor seems to think that might help because the dog won't quit or give up. here is the pic from the handsome thread
