Agreed and that's why I get my bones also from a butcher and the knuckle bones are good too. The shin bones I get are never less then 8-10 inches long. The small grocery store bones are great for small pups to start out with and as I suggested in my other post, it's always best to supervise, ESPECIALLY if you have an aggressive chewer

. You have to get to know your dog as far as what chew toys are best for them since they're all different. Some have bitten through nylabones and make sure you don't get the gumabones, made by nylabone. It can be somewhat confusing since the package is very similar. They can easily be chewed and they can get BIG pieces off very quickly, not a good idea if they swallow them
