MSU & Thyroid test

For all of you that have had past experience with sending your thyroid test to MSU, I was wondering, how long did it take you to get the results back?
Chance was at the vets on the 8th and I still have yet to hear the results and this waiting is killing me :( I called today and yesterday and they said the spring break is the cause of the delay. I just need to know how long the average test takes.

Re: MSU & Thyroid test

I personally haven't had one done but it seems like they usually take like 7 to 10 days. Some folks I only see once a week at training class and it is common for them to talk about the results after 2 weeks go by. Hope that helps you.

Re: MSU & Thyroid test

I work for a lab that does human diagnostic testing and we used to have a vet's division.
First of all, I dont understand why spring break would hold up blood results. If it were a life or death test, that would be a big problem.
I know when we did our animal testing the ONLY thing that took 7-10 days were biopsies. All of our bloodwork was reported back within 3 days. I cant imagine why it is taking so long. Did you call the lab or your vets? I would call the lab and ask what is the hold up.

I was charged 79.00 for the thyroid profile done at MSU..there was a few other charges on my bill, but that was for collecting and a super profile/CBC.
