Re: diarrhea

My dogs are 84 and 102 pounds and I give them the adult dose. I've never needed more than one dose to take care of the runny poo-poos. I also feed boiled burger and rice for two meals.

Re: diarrhea

Do not give him anything...call your vet. He is young; you do not know what he is allergic too or why he is having diarrhea.

Re: diarrhea

I have to agree with Journey77 here, the body (for a reason) is trying to rid itself of something. Preventing this might not be a good thing.

Re: diarrhea

Gatorade? Never heard of that one and I even work at a vet’s office. I would say that Pedilite would work better. Your local grocery store should have a non flavor and a store brand for a lower cost! I would also cut it half and half with water. Does he have all his vaccinations or got into anything around the house that you know of? GOOD LUCK

Re: diarrhea

Well it comes in flavors like Cherry and Grape. Not all dogs like those flavors but if you have some flavored already at home you can try it. I just have had great success in the nonflavor.

Re: diarrhea

I was wondering also The lady at the vet office said not to feed him for 12 hours is that 12 hours since the last time he had been fed? Because he only eats 2 meals a day so would it be ok to feed him tonight? Since he ate at round 6 this morning?

Re: diarrhea

My 11 week old puppy had bad runs it got so bad it was like projectile I took him to the vets they kept him in and 3 days later he was allowed out, he is better the sample they sent away revealed he had camplyobacter which basically is food poisoning, so if your puppy has the runs it is best to take a sample in for then to send away.

Re: diarrhea

Gatorade - When Tiny was sick and wouldn't eat or drink I asked my doctor at cornell about giving him Gatorade to try and keep him from dehydrating. He said Gatorade is pretty strong stuff and to water it down at least 50%. Strong stuff ? I didn't really get into it with him but I figure he is one of the best doctors at Cornell he must know a little something.
