Frontline & Swimming

We've been applying Frontline every other month during the warm seasons and I've been paranoid about someone getting a tick since we do a lot of hiking this time of year. I personally think we should be applying it every month but my husband says every other or every three months should be enough. What is the best thing to do?

Also, can we take them swimming without having to re-apply the Frontline afterwards? They got a dose March 1st and we want to take them swimming this weekend....I'm completely confused as I've heard so many different things, including that Frontline protects against Fleas for three months but for Ticks only one month.

Help?! :o

Re: Frontline & Swimming

Top Spot will not come off in water nor even if you shampoo.

The product works against fleas for 3 months. It only protects against ticks for 30 days.

i believe that after 24 hrs swimming should be ok the ingrediant is absorbed into the fat layer and after it is absorbed it simply cant be washed off. in warm weather i would do it monthly

Re: Frontline & Swimming

Thanks guys :)

Does anyone know if it is, in fact, true that Frontline only protects against ticks for one month and fleas three months?
