| Anyone dealt with squamous cell carcinoma?? Just got the test results back from my boy, squamous cell carcinoma is the result, just my luck. It is in the bladder and he only has about 30% normal bladder the rest is that crude. Thought I would ask if anyone has dealt with it and if so any pointers, tips or miracle cures??? Time to start my research on what the lab is calling a very rare monster. Tammy |

| Re: Anyone dealt with squamous cell carcinoma?? Unfortunately yes. My Molly (11 1/2) has squamous cell carcinoma of the upper jaw. She was diagnosed in Feb and I was told she has 3-6 months to live. It is below the root of the canine tooth and the two teeth front and back of it, and spreads across the upper jaw in the size and shape of a 1/2 dollar. She takes Astragalus, Burdock, Red clover and nutribiotic plus. Plus vitamins . She seems to be doing well, though aside from her mouth seeping blood periodically My Angelica (12 1/2) has transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder. (TCC) She was diagnosed 5/02. She was given 6 -12 months (the average for dogs with bladder TCC) It will be 2 years post diagnosis this May! She takes Sucralfate and Piroxicam, vitamins and eats a partially raw diet My very best to you and your dog

| Re: Anyone dealt with squamous cell carcinoma?? Thanks for at least knowing I am not the only one fighting this monster and that the 3-6 months the vet gave him is not always true. It is only a week since his surgery and he is running and playing with his siblings and loving life. He actually looks and acts better now then before the surgery and they really didn't do anything. Right now he is on antibotics because of the surgery, prioxicam and transfer factor. I have been told to add vitamin E and look into a raw diet. I have been looking into a raw diet but it can be confusing to know how much and what to feed. Have any easy steps to take to get started? The really sad part is my boy is only 7, it just is not right. But we have not given up, we are just gearing up for the fight now that we know what we are fighting. Sorry to hear you are fighting this disease too, give your dogs a big hug from me and Killian. |

| Re: Anyone dealt with squamous cell carcinoma?? You can get him on a raw diet quickly by looking for a complete prepared raw diet. Some national manufacturers that make complete diets include Steve's Real Food and Nature's Variety. Other manufacturers make diets that need to be supplemented. Then you can research the specifics of a do-it-yourself diet without so much stress. Some awesome websites for cancer nutrition and natural treatment: http://www.bowchow.com/specific.html http://www.labbies.com/cancerintro.htm http://b-naturals.com/Sum1998.php Best of luck to you and your boy.

| Re: Anyone dealt with squamous cell carcinoma?? Sorry to hear your news. Vets can't be spot on when it comes to the time frame I guess it's due to many factors. I know when I lost my Rotti boy to Osteosarcoma I was told about 6 months, but I only had him 28 days after diagnosis. |
