What should I apply to my Rotties leg?

my rottie has a little bald spot on his front right leg. i noticed it awhile back but it was very small and it got bigger by a few centimeters.. well probably up to an inch. what should I apply to it so i can prevent it from turning into a disaster? please write back asap? any suggestions? it doesnt seem to bother him though as i spend nearly the whole day with him i guess he bites or scratches it when im sleeping? can i apply cortisone topically to him? write back. (but it seems like it aint itchy to him well i dunno)

How did this bald spot start, do you know? Most of the time if you (and the dog) leave it alone, it'll be fine. You could rub a little vitamin E on it but don't rub more hair off in the process.

If this is getting bigger you might want to have your vet check it out. Could be ringworm:(

If you are talking about an elbow callus, they are normal and of no concern. If you are talking about an injury or infection you might want to see a vet.

Just out of curiousity, did you get your boy neutered right before you noticed this spot?

Chase has a bald spot on her front leg where they put in the I.V. when she was spayed. I was told she had an allergic reaction to the I.V. The spot is about the size of a fifty cent piece and neither of us notice it anymore. (Something else brought it to mind last week, I checked and it is still there.)

Just a thought.

Ringworm, mange, licking at it, there are sooooo many things it could be. Some serious, some not a big deal. go to the vet and know for SURE.
