Eye problems

As all of you know, rotties have "eye boogies" sometimes they are hard and sometimes they are soft. The past few days, Duce's eyes have been "runny." It is whiteish in color and when you wipe it away a few minutes later it is back. Should I be concerned? He turned one in Jan is this a stage of growth?

Re: Eye problems

I'd wonder if he didn't have some debris in there that wasn't coming out on it's own. Take a look and see if you can see anything.

Is it BOTH eyes or just one?

Re: Eye problems

It is both eyes, now it is not running out of his eyes, but it just seems there is more eye junk than usual.

Re: Eye problems

hmmm, could be any number of things then.

Is it windy where you are?

Do you smoke around the dog?

Does it seem to bother him? Like is he trying to paw at his eyes?

Re: Eye problems

The good thing about this eye goop, it is still its normal color. Duce will see the vet in 2 weeks, if he starts pawing at his eyes or whimpers when we wipe it away, we will take him to the vet right away. Maybe it is a little "cold."
