Right front leg trembles.....

Hi Gang,

I mostly lurk, but today I have questions. I plan on taking him to the vet Firday before anyone gets the wrong idea. First off Bear is a rescue that we took in three years a go at the age of three when my Rottie Rufus went to the bridge. Bear has a low thyroid so he is on meds for that and glucosomine
(sp). I have only managed to get his weight down from 184 when we got to 162 in three years. Still working on him. Well to make a long story short I have noticed he is favoring his right front leg more so. When he is standing and sitting that leg will tremble.. His thyroid was checked in Oct., every thing was normal. He had straph infection twice this pass summer, finally got that under control and over with in Oct. He was put on clavamox (128 for 3 weeks)
and revolution every two weeks for six weeks. When I first noticed it he was in the back of small NOVA and I figured he was not comfortable riding in the back. So yesterday I noticed him standing in the kitchen and his leg was trembling. I put him on the floor and rubbed his leg and on the outside of his
right paw there seems to be a little swelling, no cuts or broken skin .
Any thoughts? I just pray it's nothing serious in the years I have had rotties
(1985) I have lost 4 to various types of cancers. Thanks

Re: Right front leg trembles.....

Hi Gail, if he's 6 years old, he may be starting to get arthritis. He's right in that age group. Then again, it could be a pulled muscle.
