What part of OC are you looking in? Who is your vet now?

Re: Vet in Ocean county NJ

I tried to PM you, but you can't get them yet. So I guess I will post it.

Your vet is my vet also. He is a very quiet man that some people take as rude. He is not, just quiet. He does know his stuff though. I think he may be a bit intimidated by our big dogs, being a cat person at heart. He has gotten better over the years with them (rotties) though.

What makes you unhappy with him? Is it something that I should be concerned about also?

I have heard good thing about Lanoka Oaks on rt 9, but have no first hand experience.

My edit. It seems you two have the same vet so I thought I would remove his name now that that is clear

Re: Vet in Ocean county NJ

Shy,
Its nothing that he did,and this may sound silly but When I call the vet at 3 on a friday I expect to hear a voice not a recording telling me there closed and to call a place 40 min away.I'm not saying be there 24 hours but at least till 8 like everyone else.Yes I too thought he was rude but your explanation explains it.I agree it seems that he knows his stuff.

Re: Vet in Ocean county NJ

Yes, I agree that having his emergency coverage up in Tinton Falls a scarey thing. That I don't like. But they are fantastic up there. If you are nervous about something just call and ask.
I suspect that his hours are about the same as the other vets in the area. I think Lanoka Oaks is closed on Wed afternoons. The only vet I know of in the area that has emergency on call, is Dr Bodman's group on Lacey Rd.

Nope he isn't rude, just not a laughy, jokie talkie, personality.

Oh by the way, he is finally micro-chipping. I had Widget done yesterday, when I had her in for shots.
Moose will get done when he goes for his shots.
