Spay Information....

Hi everyone---

I'll be travelling down to West Virginia at Christmas to celebrate with both sides of the family.

My one cousin has a mixed breed female (looks to be a Shepherd x golden retriever). So, Sassy the dog, has already had two litters of puppies (that I know of.... ) & the dog just turned two over the summer. It just breaks my heart & she could have had more that I don't know of. My cousin tries to keep it from me since she knows that it ticks me off so much. She knows that I used to volunteer at the SPCA & don't have much use for people who keep their dog outside & have CONSTANT "accidental" breedings.

I've called around when I'm down there & gotten prices to get Sassy spayed. My cousin basically likes having the puppies around & then she gives them away to good homes.

I would like to go visit prepared this time with facts & things that I can print off from websites that I can just hand her. She's a big reader & I think that a pamphlet full of info. would be much better then just talking to her (which usually turns to yelling because I get so frustrated.) So if anyone has any links with any compelling articles it would be appreciated.

:)

Wow, thank you so much Dawn. I'll be checking out those links & cutting & pasting stuff that I think is important. AND....possibly highlighting some important areas. :p

Thanks again!

:)

I think if you do a search at www.google.com for 'low cost spay/neuter' or 'spay USA' you can find a vet in her area that'll do the spay for a fairly decent price. Takes about 5-7 days to have the certificate mailed to you (or her)...along with the good info Dawn posted, some financial savings might be a good enough incentive to have the dog spayed.

And if that's not enough, here's a list of reasons to spay/neuter a dog: http://www.maxpages.com/myzoo/Reason...or_Neuter_Dogs
