Puppy has a cold

Hi everyone,
could someone help me with this one? My puppy has had a cold for more than a week now. He has mucus on his nose and I even hear it in his breathing. Is this something that will eventually go away or I should visit the vet asap? Do puppies get colds like we do? Is there any real danger in this?
Thanks

Absolutely, GO TO THE VET.

Athena had the similar symptoms, and I brushed it off as kennel cough. (Coughing, congestion). I waited it out for 5 days to take her in... By that point she had aspirated pneumonia!!! I felt awful, so it's always better safe than sorry.

Ditto - go the vet. Better safe than sorry, in any case.

Thank you All

Ladies, I'd like to thank you all so very much for the advice. As soon as I read your messages I took him to the vet and he indeed had a cold. She gave him antibiotics which he has started taking and hopefully all will be OK.
Once again, you came through!
Thank you
Steven

Awww...glad to hear it. Hope the little bugger is doing well soon!

FTR, in the future, when you are not sure,c all your vet or make an appointment. Some things need to be addresed right away and by waiting can simply make things worse! :)

Thank you so much Samantha.
What threw me off and made me wait was that his poo was normal. Solid, I mean. And his appetite was normal also. But that lisp in his breathing was enough to scare me. And then, your response...
It won't happen again.
Thanks
