growth rate

Hello,I'm just wondering at 11 weeks how big should a male rotti be?I've had 2 other rotties before but never took pics at that age and having a hard time remembering the size. This little or should I say big guy because he looks a lot bigger than my last ones at this age.I know pounds can vary as to the method and which scales you use so if anyone have any pics. of their male rottie pups at this age and threw 16 weeks or so I would be very grateful thanks a million. For the record I don't care either way if he turns out big or small I'll love him no matter. It's just nice to see what he may look like compared to others that's all just a curious father(lol)dogs are no different than when we have kids always comparing huh(lol) thanks again

Search the forums, you'll find a million discussions on this. In short, it depends on the dog's bloodline and you can't judge the puppy against others. You should be able to easily feel the ribs and hip points........to keep him adequately thin. If you have to press in to feel them, I'd take some weight off. A fat puppy is an unhealthy adult.

It TRULY depends on the bloodline. Some puppies hold together throughout their growth, others go through horribly ugly stages. Some mature quickly and have broad chests and big heads by 7 mos, others not until 18mos or even two years.

To compare your puppy to others of different bloodlines is silly and unfair. I don't compare myself to Flo Jo or some super model when trying to figure out how I should look, puppies are no different.

Why not ask your breeder, if you're that overly concerned?

Get on Google and do a search for "Rottweiler puppy 11 weeks". I did just to see what kind of results it gave and it popped up lots of pages with pictures of 11 week old puppies.

You could instead insert 12 or 13 in there to get more.

You should have simpley stated your only interest is in seeing pictures of other(s) dog at 11 weeks.

I find it a tad bit odd to post a question looking for ONLY pictures. If experience is to be my teacher, it sounds more akin to an effort to harvest info, not see pictures.

Yes, I agree I would like to see pics. but that was not all i was looking for but thanks some people give some smart remarks and should keep those to their self maybe a person posting didn't ask the question they wanted in the correct way doesn't mean they should be critisized for it does it?

There's so many variables on growth rate, it is difficult to predict!
I think roughly 10lbs a month until 6-8 months, then it slows way down. Which makes your pup right on target.

We thought Cooper would actually be bigger than he turned out - (both parents were on the larger side) but he stopped gaining significant weight at about 14 months old, and hasn't gained since. He's a healthy, lean 95lbs. :)
