Prednisone and Rimadyl

We saw our vet today and she was way overloaded and running behind due to emergencies, so i did not get a chance to ask this follow up question, does anyone here know why you should not give Prednisone and Rimadyl at the same time?

I think that's because both have some potentially serious side effects that can affect the stomach, liver and kidneys. By using them together, it looks to me like the risk would be compounded and therefore increased.

Here's a link to a Pfizer info page on Rimadyl:

http://www.rimadyl.com/about/owner_info.html

It says that Rimadyl should not be given with other NSAIDs (for example, aspirin, etodolac) or steroids (for example, cortisone, prednisone, dexamethasone, triamcinolone).
