she just went on the towels in her crate, so i changed her towels.

Do you have a yard you can take her out to?

I think reasonable caution dictates not taking a puppy to run around in a park or somewhere many other strange dogs have been, but in your own yard, or friend's nice safe yards, etc, it's absolutely fine, IMHO.

Honestly...I'm not sure, I'll let someone else more knowlegable give a definitive answer, if there is one!

I think if she was my puppy, I would take her out anyway, and just keep her to the same area each time, not letting her investigate other dog feces or anything.

I've had puppies who came to work with me (I'm a painting contractor, so they were in alll sorts of situations.) I did my best to be cautious, but there were certainly times they were outside in less than sterile areas! I'm of the opinion that exposure to a little dirt and a few germs (in animals or humans) isn't such a bad thing; helps build immunity. That's just my uneducated opinion, though, FWIW.

If you keep her inside now, you'll have a heck of a job getting her housetrained later, I would think.

When Kiara had her shots, the vet just said to keep her away from areas where other dogs have been. Ie, dog parks, other peoples houses that have dogs, tree stumps, etc..

Nothing wrong with having them outside though, immunity is a big thing.

i just had her outside for a good 20 minutes after she ate some food and drank plenty of water. she didn't go to the bathroom. 'm taking her back outside in 10 minutes cause she keeps drinking. i won't let her sneak it in there when i'm writing this message. i'm typing while my head is turned.
