New Hope for Treating Cancer

There is a great article in Whole Dog Journal about a herbal extract that has shown promising in studies in treating cancer. It is called artemisinin. You can learn more in the magazine or by emailing Dr Henry Lai at UofWA ; hlai@u.washington.edu.

Thanks for this info. Is this something you would rec. looking into even if we do not at this moment have a dog with cancer? That is, are there potential PREVENTIVE aspects? Or other reasons to take a look now? Or just to remember if we ever again have to face the dreaded cancer curse?

Also, I thought for people finding this thread perhaps a year or more from now, maybe a full citation to the journal where the article appears would be helpful, including issue, year, month, pages, even the address for the journal.

How is your new rescue dog situation?

Great idea, Iwill post all the info about the article on here. I do not believe it is preventative, seems to be given only to dogs with active cancer. There is a study going on now with dogs diangosed with osteosarcoma. Should i post another thread with the info or just add it on this posting?
Kim

PS new dog is doing well - very goofy and young but coming around!
