Colicy puppy at 3 days old?

Hi all,

All of you who have been following my puppy saga in the rescue section.........I have yet another question regarding the runt toby.

He is now 3 days old, very small BUT gaining weight (1 ounce so far). He is eating now, although I do need to show him the way to the teat, but BOY he is a screamer!

Mom is helping him go to the bathroom, and she is cleaning him well BUT he seems to cry A LOT!

I am hoping that there is such a thing as colicy puppies - is there?

Did you know that every 4.5 seconds a cat or dog in america is "put to sleep"?

Steph,
I have always noticed pups and kittens crying while momma cleans. I think it is normal. Even human kids fuss when you try to wash their faces.

I know that the poor pup is passing both urine and feces because I have seen hm do so.

Today was not as good as yesterday - he hardly ate anything :(

I am so sad for him, I hope he picks up - but I am not too sure :(

However, his two brothers and sister are doing great! They have all gained 4 ounces a peice bringing both boys up to 20 even ounces, and their little sister up to 16.

My little toby is just sneaking up to 9 ounces - maybe he will pull through.....we are doing all we can.

Please pray for the little one, I want him to make it :(
