| Pup Leaking My female pup turns 6 months tomorrow and has been "leaking", it has no color or odor. she will be laying down when she gets up sometimes there has been a wet spot. I'm not sure if it's the first signs of the heat cycle, is 6 months to young? I'm not sure what signs to look for. Anyone with any ideas of what could be going on? Thanks in advance!:) |

| If it isn't a urinary infection, it could be incontinence(sp?). My 12 year old Husky developed this just after she was spayed(at about 6 months). She has been on a pill ever since then. For the first 5-6 years she needed the pill only once a month but as she has gotten older we have needed to give it to her more frequently. Jaime

| There is no mention of whether or not the pup has been spayed. My impression is that it has not. I'm sure the poster would have mentioned it if it was a reaction to the spay. After my pup was spayed at 22 weeks she had a little incontinence for a week or so which I did not medicate for. After that she was fine and is 22 months old now and no sign of incontinece at all. |

| Not everyone knows that incontinence can be a reaction to a spay. I did not know it until my Husky was diagnosed. And I have also heard of it occuring in females that aren't spayed as well. Also, I never said anything about the dog being spayed, I just told what happened to my dog after she was spayed but had similar syptoms as his dog is haveing now, i.e. getting up and there being a wet spot. | Since he's wondering if she might be coming into heat, I doubt she's spayed. Sounds like a bladder infection, not unusual with puppy bitches. Do take her to visit the vet. |

| You are absolutely right Judi. That'll teach me to read the first post in a thread before I post again. Silly me! Sounds like a urinary infection to me too. I repeat my first post, take her to the vet and take a sample of her urine with you. |

| Thanks for the replies, I took her in to be spayed this morning along with a pee sample, the vet didn't know if there was enough urine,so we will see. Thanks. Niki |
