tongue sore

Hey - has anyone ever seen a sore on their dog's tongue? I was taking a ball out of Birdie's mouth last night and noticed a round sore (about the size of a pea) on the side of her tongue. It's red and looks like it would be painful. She was chewing on a bone last night and would whine every once in awhile. Do dogs get canker sores like humans or should I have it checked out?

I did some research and it said that it is not common for dogs to get ulcers, but it can happen and if it does to make an appointment to get it checked out because it may mean something else is worng. But it did not lsit what else could be wrong. I am a big worry wart. Now I am thinking that something is worng because the tongue sore, plus the recurrent diarrhea and she has had really bad breath and bad gas lately. I really hope that this is nothing bad and this is all just a coincidence and nothing serious. Anyone have an information for me? I have a vet appointment for Friday, but I wanted to know if anyone had a similar experience. Thanks in advance!
