Puppy breathing problems....

This is a very weird thing to me and I cannot figure it out. My puppy (Titan) is 10 weeks old (21lbs) and seems to be fine until we put him in his crate at night. He will be laying in the kitchen or something breathing just fine, but when he goes in the crate he starts panting fast just like he finished a run. Then he will try and breath out of his nose and it is also very loud and fast it seems. He does not cry any more when he goes in the crate for the night, but it sounds like he is dying in there!!! Any ideas? I give him water in there but it seems that it doesnt help and he has to go out every 2 hours during the night

Are you sure that it's his breathing and not just him fussing because it's time to go to bed? Some dogs, when worked up will breathe faster as a work up to whining / barking / crying. Some will just stay at this stage. It's an attention getting technique in hopes of you letting him out! ;)

If he can sit quietly, lay down quietly and be in every other position outside of the crate without breathing oddly - I'd say it's more behaviour related than medical.

Your pup is due for a check up soon, right? Mention it to your vet and see what they say.

put a fan on low in front of his crate. I bet he's just hot.

Pups hate to sleep anywhere they are hot and often pant like that at that time. If the fan does not stop the panting then mention it to the vet

PS

No water in the crate and no water after 7 pm. THAT is why he has to go out so often at night :)
