Where is the crate located in your house? Is it off in another room, or is it in your bedroom?

Put the crate beside your bed. He's lonely and misses the comfort of sleeping with mom & siblings. With the crate beside your bed, you can drop your hand down to the crate when he starts fussing. He'll be able to smell you & touch you. Then he'll know he isn't alone. Best of all you don't have to get out of bed.:D
In short order you will be able to tell the difference between , Mom i'm loney & Mom i got to go potty fussing.
I had to do that with my Rotten one in the beginning. I'm say something like "i'm here, go back to sleep," in a soothing tone. Before you knew it he was back to sleep. After a few weeks he was sleeping all night. Just hang in there.

Good, glad things are getting better. :) I'm sure everyone is happier now. :)
Pups are like having a human kid, they are so much work.
They do grow up so fast tho, enjoy his puppy days.;)

Night Time Crate Crying....

One of the things that 'signal's bedtime in my house is when I turn on a 'white noise machine' (available at most Bed&Bath type stores)...it simulates alot of noises, such as a babbling brook, rain, and a powerful waterfall (white noise). I use the white noise sounds to drown out hubby's snoring, but it also let's the dog know it's bedtime...when he hears mommy turn it on, and get ready for bed, he's right there, ready to go.

Until he was trustworthy enough to be out of the crate at night, I put the 'noisemaker' as we now call it, on top of his crate. I also turned it on during the day when we went to work....so he settled nicely into the crate with no problems (lucky for us!!).

If the dog 'hears' a constant sound, even a talk radio station, he/she may not be so lonely...my sister recorded herself reading a book for about 45 minutes and would play the tapes every day, when she finished the book, she donated the tapes to a 'reading for the blind' program, and the dog was comfortable at night, knowing 'Mom' was there talking to him...and the dog got the entire Harry Potter book collection read to him by my sister!!

Good luck!
