trainers in southern Illinois?

I am new to the group and noticed that a couple had inquired about location of trainers in the state they now live. Southern Il has very few or that I am awhere of. To start training should obedience begin in a basic puppy class or should I find a trainer directly? and avoid any possible mistakes or learned bad habits?please email names of trainers in area south of route 70 in IL. thanx much.
