| walking with stroller Hi, I am new here so let me tell you a little bit. Lucy is our 9 month old rotti, we have taken some classes. My question is when we go for walks and it is just her and I she does pretty good, some pulling but she will come back to a heel (click and treat). When we go out with my two human girls, they are in a double jogging stroller (no I don't jog! haha) Lucy seem like she tries to heel with the stroller? She likes to be even with the stroller instead of back by boring old me. We live in a very small town so this really isn't a problem to anyone but me. It really wouldn't be so much of a problem but she walks close to it and I don't want to run her over with the back wheel! Any suggestions on how to handle this? I usually stop walking and wait till she is back to me (which can talk forever because the girls are really entertaining!) or if I feel I've given her enough time, I just get her attention and bring her back to a heel by me and then we start all over again. Walks can take a really long time this way but we have fun! |

| Re: walking with stroller I used to walk my 2 rottweilers with my daughter when she was younger... now she thinks she is too old for the stroller! I'm sure that she would prefer to be up with the 2 kids as you said..... they are more entertaining. I taught a "back" command which meant.... "watch out"! I am taking a left turn withthe stroller, and you are about ready to get hit....it only took a few bumps before the dogs got back to where they belonged.
