Re: Spray Commander, remote control training system

When the vet and the trainers said she is not wired right, I was not sure what that means in dog terms.I never associated it with putting her down. We are not giving up on this girl. I just wanted to be able to take her for a nice long walk or a car ride. She is on leash at the beach until we reach the rural section where no one goes. Then she runs her self silly. Now with the collar on, If there is a dog in the distance I'm not in a panic. If she needs the spray, she gets one.
I understand the advice that is being offered . I understand the concept of reactive behavior (thank you) ROTTLVA. That is an amazingly smart dog, CHERRY HEART.I don't think Lola is that smart. I don't put the collar on in the house.
I will continue to work with Lola and will be getting a trainer through rottie rescue here on Long Island. I am making notes about all the info that is provided and will explain what was suggested by all who responded. THANK YOU!!!!
My last rottie girl was a therapy dog. She was requested at senior homes and worked with special needs children. She was a puppy rescue and showed her appreciation for kindness every day of her life. Now I have a special needs dog. She is loaded with problems but, when she takes off in the pool tucking her giant feet under that belly and swims,to me, snoot up in the air, I know she is enjoying at least part of her life. She dives for her toys and she can't wait to get in the water. She will float belly up in my son's arms. She loves her food and treats and NILIF has made her into a gentle eater. Iblax, I hear you and can understand where you are coming from based on the info I have given but, we could NEVER put her down.

wired wrong means simply she can not be fixed. and even with progress would never be trustworthy thats what not wired means.

Re: Spray Commander, remote control training system

I've had luck with this protocol. Crittering Article

At the end of the article there's some video showing two dogs playing. One of them used to be aggressive towards the other. Can you tell which dog was the aggressive one?
