Please help I have a 12 week old female rottie who has been great except peeing in her crate all the time and she also after using the bathroom outside she comes in and less than 10 minutes later pees again in the house we do not use puppy pads because i think they are bad ideas. she eats twice a day once at 630am and again at 500pm and food and water is picked up at 630 because of this. She has never went number two in the house or crate. I have tried everything from training her at home in her crate. She is in her crate throughout the day and we take her out of her cage to go out side every hour but by then she has already peed in her crate and then she lays in it. So now the house and her smells. We dont put toys in there because she just pees on it too. We have a 2 1/2 year old male who was a breeze to potty train. I am at the end of my rope. Now I have a 2nd problem my male want to mark his scent over hers. We use pet oder spray but he still wants to do this. Any Help at all please I have already tried everything and anything else will help. Thanks alot Felicia

Re: Please Help Peeing in crate I suspect the crate is too big or you got the pup at a place where she has learned it's ok to pee in her house. Did you get the puppy from a breeder of from a pet store? How long do you keep her in the crate?

Re: Please Help Peeing in crate Have you ruled out a UTI? I suggest ruling that out first before thinking it's behavioral. Once that's ruled out, you will have to start over. How large is her crate? It should only be large enough for her to stand, turn around and lay down. When you take her outside to potty and she doesn't, she goes back in the crate. When she eliminates outside, throw a party and treat. Are you correcting your male for marking? Is he neutered? Also, she needs to eat 3 times per day. Feeding half of her daily rations in one sitting is too much for her little belly. She should eat 3 times per day until about 5-6 months.

Re: Please Help Peeing in crate Well she is going to her 2nd vet visit since we had her for 3 weeks and i am going to ask the vet about it. yes she goes outside and still 10 min laterin her cage and in the house she goes again. sometimes she whines and goes to the door and then other times she just pees but she just goes in her cage so tomorrow is her visit i will ask to have her test for uti and hopefully this is the problem and not behavior. thank so much for responding back i will let you know what the vet says about it tomorrow.
