Icon10 NOt sure where to post about CGC

Gypsy and Cash both passed their CGC test today
And Gypsy is enrolled in a rally obedience class

I am so excited Cash did awesome I had no doubts and Gypsy was as well even with the dog greet, the evaluater even after she passed took her and her own dog for a short walk together through the parking lot and all was great...

Congratulations! Rally is the bridge between the CGC and obed, so you're on a great path.

Re: NOt sure where to post about CGC

A big congratulations to you, especially with Gypsy! It's not easy working with a dog that is reactive to other dogs, and a lot of people would have given up instead of working through it. You should be proud of yourself, AND your dogs. You're off to a good start! Good job!

Re: NOt sure where to post about CGC

The evaluater saw I had control over Gypsy in that situation and she said that is very important, after spending some time with her she decided Gypsy would do great Rally so I read up on it and we are signing up for classes, and then doing some advanced training with Cash, and whats great with her is she does classes on weekends...

Here I was all along thinking Gypsy was people aggressive she isnt, she is just so attached to me that was the hardest part for her was to be away from me, but as far as people in public places she loves the attention

I am so proud

Re: NOt sure where to post about CGC

Proud, you certainly should be. The amount of time, patience, training and love you have given to these animals has certainly come full circle. I think you may have found your passion and I wonder if you have ever thought of becoming a trainer at some point. You have taken Gypsy from a wild child to a rottie that deserves respect for her fine behavior. Keep posting and letting others know that there is still hope at the end of the leash.

Re: NOt sure where to post about CGC

I have thought of training, I have learned so much and I am planning on helping a friend with her lab, she really has no idea how to even train a dog to sit, she is real busy and I think thats her only problem.. so I told her I will come over and show her some quick tips that I was taught..

Cash is 7 months he will be 8 months on March 10, you can test at any age the earliest I think people try is 4 months
