We Passed!

Basic Obedience :)

I'd say her grade was a A- or a B+.

We had a little trouble with being distracted while on lead but not a bad mark, received a passing mark on eval.

Then when we had to do the passing two dogs, the trainer chose Dixie's arch rival, a husky. They were having issues from the time Mr Husky walked in.
That was a "needs improvement".

Still the trainer seemed to think we could go on to Rally - do you think I should consider a retake based on the other dog issue or move on into rally?

Congrats! Nicely done!!

Move onto Rally. You and your dog are the only ones moving in the ring and you're with your dog during the Honor sit or down when the next competitor goes thru the course.

Congrats! I'd say move on... Vegas had a small "attention" problem with her little lab mix boyfriend, and they said we could choose to move on or stay back... I'm glad we moved on, because after one week (we went to intermediate obedience), she's better than more than half of the class!

Repeating a class for only one small issue seems counter productive to me, especially in dogs as intelligent as rotties. If your Dixie is anything like my Vegas, the more bored she gets, the less she'll pay attention! Keep on challenging her! :-)

By the last night she was bored! Huh, never considered that.
