| letting us know she has to go Maddie is 15 weeks. She is in a crate and has done great. Everytime we take her out of the crate we take out to go. We almost have her trained to go on commmand. As she is getting older she is spending more time out of her crate and just hanging around with us indoors. She knows to go outside but she gives us no indication she has to go. How can we get her to let us know she has to go out? Any ideas? |

| We have had basically the same experience as Lorhel, with Hannibal who turns 4 months on June 1.

| Hi, I used a "potty bell". I didn't want Trinity to scratch at the door so I hung a bell from the doorknob. Everytime I was taking her outside, I'd guide her nose to the bell and ring it and said "outside?" and immediately took her outside and gave the command "go potty". It took just 3 to 4 days and she was ringing the bell to let me know she had to go potty. She does ring it just to play with it, but I let her out anyway. If she rings, she is going out No Exceptions. The bell is a cool way, because you can hear it ring all thru the house. Hope this helps :) |
