Training jacket sources...

I want to buy a jacket just to help carry training supplies and to keep me dry. I don't want anything expensive...just something waterproof with a hood that I can wear in almost all weather conditions and seasons...something with a lot of big pockets for dumbbell, leashes, tugs, balls, treats, collars...maybe something with removable sleeves...
Anybody have any favorites??

Re: Training jacket sources...

Well, I have tons of jackets which I wear pendant on the weather and which type of training I am doing. A fishing vest, or even coat came to mind. I know they have tons of large pockets to hold all of your loot!! There is a good fishing/hunting catalog, Cabella's . Try them!

Re: Training jacket sources...

If I remember correctly, pocketed vests and jackets with a lot of big pockets are no longer allowed in trials, b/c people used to wear them in training, and then wear them in trial. It was considered too much of an aid.

This might be only for DVG or USA Natls, but before you get your dog hooked on thinking "X jacket" = obedinece, look into the rules.

Try Hallmark K9. I bought a really nice vest there at the USRC Nat. They have jackets as well and jumpsuits. Check them out.

Re: Training jacket sources...

I love DogSport Gear but find them to be expensive, very nice and great quality just expensive. Go to www.fordogtrainers.com I just picked up this great jacket that unzips into a vest. It will carry all you training toys and more for only $49.00!!! I just ordered one even though I live in AZ and it doesn't get very cold you never know where you will be competing and the make you look like a pro even in german style conformation. I'm not sure how long the sale is on go check it out.

Re: Training jacket sources...

Still haven't found the right one yet...
I want to buy myself a good SchH training jacket. Light material, removable sleeves..plenty of big pockets in front and a large pocket in back for stuff like dumbbells, large tugs....Does anybody have any favorites?

This one is the leader so far...but I'll keep looking for awhile yet.

Re: Training jacket sources...

Diane Heller-Vaccaro...since you said you ordered the jacket, has it turned out to be a really good one? Any regrets?
