Just stopped walking when on lead

Hi
My 9 month old bitch Mille has just now refused to walk when on her lead. Up until now she has been fine and walking 1-2 times a-day. I thought something was wrong as she looked very frightened, so I tried 3 or 4 other places where we normally go and same thing. Its not like just stopping and being stubborn I think..but I really dont know what has happened. We went to a park last night and I had to drive onto the pitch and then she was fine (once off the lead)
I need help becuase I love going for long walks and up until know so did Millie

Not sure why this happened, but as long as there is nothing physically wrong with the dog, I would have a couple favorite treats in my pocket...give her a couple at the beginning of the walk...then gently coax her along (with a treat once in a while if needed and with a happy but no-nonsense attitude from you). If I were to guess I'd say she's conning you to get off-leash.

Sounds good. I would only use a few treats with the dog....you don't want to create another issue with this clever dog so that "Now it will only go on walks if it gets a treat."

Don't say it won't happen, my wife started bribing our Aussie mix to give up bits of paper she (the dog) picked up. Now she brings all sorts of things to us for treats. Her favorite is negotiable paper, money, checks, etc.
