| Just always try to keep in mind that training is not a battle between the two of you. If you find yourself getting emotionally involved in a frustrated manner, quit and find something else to do (and not with the dog!). Go clean out the garage or mow the lawn or............. Very very seldom is training a contest of wills except perhaps at the very highest competition level, and teaching is never. It is almost always an issue of understanding and a problem with a handler who is in a hurry. Remember, the more you stress the dog out, the less it is able to think.
