| Newbie question: Hand signal for down I have a 16 w/o and we are working on down right now. What hand signals are typically used for down? She responds well to the clicker, and sits with a hand signal but I am not positive if I am doing the down signal properly. I taught her down using a treat to the nose and luring in an "L" shaped position. Most people are telling me to point to the ground or do I continue that "L" shaped movement? Thanks! |

| At this time, simply concentrate on the pup learning the meaning of the verbal command as the formal signal is not a luring motion but handler standing upright and the hand raised directly over the head and lowered. That will not help your baby learn the position. Worry about signals later.
